|
Dockage is the charge assessed against a vessel for berthing at a wharf, pier, bulkhead structure, or bank or for mooring to a vessel so berthed. |

(a) |
Except as otherwise provided, dockage charges shall be
assessed against all vessels in all trades at the full dockage rates provided
in Item 2400. |
|
|
(b) |
When a vessel is charged a day's dockage at a wharf, it may use the same or any other wharf operated by the Port of Sacramento during that day without further charge regardless of how often it may leave and return. |
|
|
(c) |
Free dockage will be accorded vessels: |
|
|
(d) |
Barges, lighters, and tugs employed within the Port of Sacramento may, upon written application to the Port of Sacramento, be afforded special monthly rates as may be mutually agreeable to the Port of Sacramento and the owners or operators of such watercraft. Special monthly rates shall be revocable at the discretion of the Port Director. |

(a) |
Dockage shall commence upon a vessel when made fast to a wharf, pier, bulkhead, structure or bank or upon mooring to a vessel so berthed and shall continue until such vessel is completely freed from and has vacated the berth. |

(b) |
To encourage more daytime transits of the Sacramento Ship Channel, vessels arriving between 1400 and 2200 hours which commence cargo operations the following day shall be granted free dockage for the period of time between their arrival and either the start of cargo operations, or 0800 hours, whichever occurs first. |

(a) |
Dockage shall be based on overall length of the vessel as shown in Lloyd's Register. If the length is not shown in Lloyd's Register, the ship's certificate of Registry showing length of vessel will be accepted. |

(b) |
Vessels for which the overall length is not available in either Lloyd's Register or the Certificate of Registry named in paragraph (a) of this item, shall be measured at the direction of the Port Director. When necessary to measure a vessel, the linear distance in meters shall be determined from the most forward point on the bow of the vessel to the aftermost part of the stern of the vessel, measured as parallel to the base line of the vessel. |

(c) |
In computing dockage charges based on overall length of vessel, the following will govern in the disposition of fractions: Less than one-half (.5) meter discard. One-half (.5) meter or more increase to the next whole figure. |

(d) |
Dockage rates are per twenty-four (24) hour day or fraction thereof. |
|
|
(e) |
When a vessel changes its status so that it would be liable to pay dockage at a different dockage rate, the dockage due under the changed status shall be assessed from the time such change takes effect; provided, however, that where the change in status occurs within a 24 hour period, the total charge for said 24 hour period shall be the higher of either status. |

|
(f) |
Vessels on regular daily schedule leaving from and returning to the wharf shall not be assessed more than one day's dockage in any 24 hour period. |

RATES FOR FULL DOCKAGE, OTHER THAN PASSENGER VESSELS:Note: Refer to Item 2100, paragraph (a), Exception 1 for application of four times the Dockage Rates named herein against passenger vessels. |
